Francois - Your Captain and Tour Guide
The founder of Savoir Vivre, James Waggott,  developed his unique vision of a new more chic, casual and authentic French barge cruising experience over several years while cruising these same waterways.

The essence of James' 'Savoir Vivre way' is to pluck the finest elements of Ultra-Deluxe barge cruising and make it more enjoyable and accessible.  James' love of the cuisine and culture of France is what drives this concept.

James Waggott BIO...

James is not shy when it comes to challenges.  Following a successful career in Marketing, he has since enjoyed forays into restaurateuring and property as an entrepreneur as well as public speaking. This was followed by an MBA at the world ranking Leeds University Business School, where he gained Distinction honors and a formalized plan for Savoir Vivre.

He reflects:
"If you go with the attitude of 'I can do this', chances are you will. Savoir Vivre is making its own little waves, excuse the pun, in this fabulous industry. I'm very very proud of what we've all created! "

Francois Everson is one of the most experienced Captains and Guides on the French canals.

He started way back in 1986 on the Virginia Anne and from 1995 co-owned the very successful Saint Louis. He has lived and worked in Burgundy since 1990 and knows the area as well as, if not better, than most natives. His vast experience, relaxed style and general air of "savoir vivre" makes him the absolutely perfect companion for your cruise aboard with us!

Semi-retired since 2006, he decided that it really wasn't for him and we are delighted to have tempted him back.

In his own words:

“The concept of a less formal approach to barging really appealed to me. My love of the canals, especially these here in
Burgundy, has never diminished nor has my enjoyment of showing visitors the best that this region has to offer. All in all, the Savoir Vivre appealed so much to me that it didn’t take a lot to persuade me to join the project.”
June - Your Hostess
June brings a wealth of experience in both the hospitality industry and through a life of adventure and travel. This endears her with a worldly saviness which makes her an ideal companion aboard Savoir Vivre.

Her enthusiasm, pleasant demeanor and natural ability to focus on what turns something "nice" into something "special" makes her a valued member of your crew!
